Mauro Simonazzi

Mauro Simonazzi has taught at the universities of Turin, Eastern Piedmont, and Camerino. He is currently a full professor of History of Political Thought at the Department of Philosophy “Piero Martinetti” at the University of Milan. He is a member of the editorial board of the journals “Storia del pensiero politico” and “Politics.” He is a member of the scientific committee of the journal “La società degli individui” and director of the “History of Political Philosophy” series published by Mimesis. He has published the following volumes: La malattia inglese. La melanconia nella tradizione filosofica e medica dell’Inghilterra moderna (Il Mulino, 2004); Le favole della filosofia. Saggio su Bernard Mandeville (FrancoAngeli, 2008); Mandeville (Carocci, 2011); Degenerazionismo. Psichiatria, eugenetica e biopolitica (Bruno Mondadori, 2013). He also edited, together with Thomas Casadei, Nuove e antiche forme di schiavitù (Editoriale Scientifica, 2018) and, together with Gabriella Silvestrini and Marta Postigo, Constitutional Democracy and the Challenges of Anti-Liberalism.
