Stéphane Vibert is a full professor at the School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies at the University of Ottawa. He holds a doctorate in social anthropology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris), a degree in political science and comparative sociology, and is co-director of Nouveaux Cahiers Castoriadis. His research focuses on the notion of “community” and various modern collective identities, as well as the theoretical and epistemological understanding of holism in the social sciences.
