Andrea Lanza teaches at the University of Toronto and is a historian of political thought and practices. His research focuses primarily on the origins of socialism, particularly in France in the first half of the 19th century, and on French thinkers of democracy: Claude Lefort, Marcel Gauchet, Cornelius Castoriadis, and Pierre Rosanvallon.
