The Philosophy and Politics Laboratory of the “Piero Martinetti” Department of Philosophy at the University of Milan aims to explore some of the most relevant issues in contemporary political and social philosophy, including in particular: 1) constitutional democracies confronted with the challenges posed by technological innovations (digital technology and artificial intelligence): from the risks of surveillance and control over individual lives to new problems in education; 2) the ecological crisis and its impact on domestic and international policies: from emergency policies, starting with health policies, to the rethinking of social practices in order to address a necessary transition.
These two lines of research will be developed from a multidisciplinary perspective, also taking into account political, sociological, and anthropological studies on the various topics.
